NetSession Interface の特徴：
- スパイウェア、マルウェア、その他の侵略的なソフトウェアではない
- セキュリティー脅威ではなく、ユーザーのマシン上で個人情報の表示や共有を行わない
- ユーザーのマシンに常にインストールされている訳ではなく、いつでも削除できる
インストール場所：
- NetSession がインストールされていると、Windows のコントロールパネルから、あるいは Mac OS X のシステム環境設定でユーザーのマシン上のサービスを表示させることが可能
- Windows ではコントロールパネルを開き、Akamai NetSession Interface のアイコンまたはコントロールパネルへのリンクをクリック。
- Mac OS X では、アカマイの拡張機能アイコンは「システム環境設定」ウィンドウの「その他」 --> 「アカマイ」に表示

ユーザーには、自分の Akamai NetSession Interface が何をしているかについて常に知る権利があります。 Akamai provides a Control Panel (Windows) and System Preferences pane (Mac) application to show the current status of the client, its caches, and the various applications utilizing the Akamai NetSession Interface.
3. Control
ユーザーには、自身のシステムへの絶対的な管理権限があります。つまり、以下のことを実行できます。
- 選択したファイルの削除
- Akamai NetSession Interface のオン／オフ
- Akamai NetSession Interface のスムーズなアンインストール
